Laura

From the head of the "I don't do handstands team" I'd like to say thanks for encouraging and helping me do some handstands last night. I even tried to do one at home in the bathroom last night--unsuccessfully, but I'll keep trying (just don't tell Marc, he's afraid I'm going to kick my legs through the wall. :))

Sangeeta Carter

Yes, I am in the same team Laura. What is it about doing handstand at home unsuccessfully? I can't get them even after multiple tries. But thanks Tom for encouraging and showing the right technique cause I am one of those pessimistic inverters that succeeded under Tom's guidance.

Bonnie

Tom could see my worry about handstands last night and I was doing one before I knew it! Tempted to make that photo my fb pic and work on becoming a handstand pushup queen! ;)

ronasy

@ Bonnie - Do it!!! I want to see that picture up there tomorrow. And if it helps I was on the phone with Rob when I saw the picture and said "Dang Bonnie is getting skinny!" :)

Lorri

Hmmm... You all are giving me some good ideas for t-shirts 'i like to do it inverted'. 'I like it better upside down'. Congrats to all of you on handstands!!!

Sangeeta Carter

Great ideas for t-shirt Lorri. I have been dreaming of wearing such t-shirts ;)

World Class Fitness In 100 Words

  • Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, clean and jerk, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, paralettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.
