Discovered
Crossfit:
In November of
2007, I was 200lbs and knew that I needed to make a life change. I was
introduced to Dave Young who ran Crossfit style bootcamps at the
Sammamish Club and endured my first Crossfit workout February of
2008. For the first month I would climb into the car and cry on my drive
home, but I loved the intensity and I could feel the change in my body and mind immediately.
The thing that amazed me the most is the quality of people that are attracted
to the work that we do. I love the community in the Gym. Where else
do people cheer eachother on, celebrate eachother's accomplishments, and whine
with one another until 3,2,1 GO?
Favorite WOD:
Helen
Least Favorite WOD:
Murph (never ends), Fran (i hate ANYTHING with Thrusters)
Favorite Lift:
Push Jerk
Least Favorite
Lift: Squat Clean (more torturous form of the front squat)
Squatch (Mascot):
All around
"mountain-man", extremely active and fit in natural settings and
landscapes, able to leap streams and boulders in a single lunge or box jump.
Passes the time snatching and squatting large trees. Highly unsocial except
with other CrossFitters, rarely seen in Snoqualmie area except for occasional
group WOD's.
